About this Website

This serial killer database was created to provide students, researchers, and those in the media and law enforcement with accurate data on serial killers. Data will be added and revised on a continual basis.

This serial killer database contains serial killer profiles, links to court documents, interviews, psychological assessments, and other media. This database also contains a variety of research reports and infographics aimed to help those visiting the site to better understand serial homicide and its perpetrators.

This database was created using information collected by students from the University of Toronto. Multiple sources were utilized including prison records, court transcripts, media sources, true crime books, and the Internet. Great care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the information.

For this project, serial killers were defined as individuals who killed at least two people, representing two or more individual events, with a cooling off period between the events (Ressler & Shachtman, 1992).
